He has advised boards, CEOs, leadership teams and business owners on a wide range of commercial, operational and strategic matters, including business restructures, partnership and shareholder issues, contractual disputes, workplace matters and complex commercial negotiations.

Motam’s Approach

Motam believes effective mediation requires more than legal knowledge. It requires patience, preparation, careful listening, commercial insight and the ability to build trust with all parties involved.

Our approach is practical, respectful and resolution-focused. We work with parties to create an environment where issues can be discussed openly, risks can be properly understood and realistic pathways to settlement can emerge.

We are committed to conducting mediations with independence, impartiality and confidentiality, and to creating a constructive process in which all parties are heard and respected.

Our Services

Motam Mediation offers a range of professional in-person and online mediation services across a broad range of commercial, workplace and civil disputes, including:

  • Breach of contract disputes

  • Trust and estate disputes

  • Employment and workplace disputes

Online Mediation

Online mediation offers a flexible, convenient and cost-effective alternative to in-person mediation.

Conducting the mediation process online can save time, reduce costs and make scheduling easier for all parties involved.

Online mediation also makes it easier for parties, legal representatives and other key participants to attend from different locations, helping ensure that the right people can participate in the process.

Participating from a familiar and comfortable environment can also help reduce stress and support more productive discussions.

Online mediation is particularly beneficial where parties are located interstate or overseas, have busy schedules, mobility limitations, or prefer not to meet in person.

Our online mediations are primarily conducted via Zoom, although other secure online platforms can also be used where appropriate.

Why Mediation?

  • Timely and efficient
Mediation allows disputes to be resolved more quickly and in a less formal setting than court proceedings, helping parties avoid lengthy delays and ongoing disruption.

  • Greater control over the outcome
Rather than having a decision imposed by a judge or tribunal, the parties work together to reach their own mutually acceptable resolution.

  • Flexible and tailored solutions
Mediation enables parties to explore creative and practical outcomes that may not be available through litigation, while better addressing the underlying interests and priorities of everyone involved.

  • Reduced uncertainty and risk
Court proceedings can be costly, stressful and unpredictable. Mediation allows parties to negotiate outcomes they can both accept, reducing the risks associated with a contested hearing.

  • Cost-effective dispute resolution
Mediation is often significantly less expensive than litigation, helping parties minimise legal costs, time away from work and ongoing financial strain.

  • Confidential and private
Mediation is conducted in private and is generally confidential. Subject to limited legal exceptions, discussions during mediation cannot be disclosed or relied upon in later court proceedings.

  • Preserves relationships
Because mediation focuses on communication and cooperation, it can help preserve personal, family, workplace or commercial relationships that may otherwise be damaged through adversarial litigation.

  • Less adversarial and less stressful
Mediation promotes respectful dialogue and problem-solving, often reducing the emotional strain associated with formal legal disputes.

  • Pragmatic and solution-focused
Mediation focuses on practical outcomes and forward-looking solutions, rather than simply determining who is right or wrong.
